Globalisation appears at present as an economical and cultural process that is impossible to be avoided and needless to say that it actually cannot be stopped. Will globalisation exert influence over national identity? - we may ask. As a matter of fact, I believe that the scale of this process implies that many (if not almost all) aspects of peoples lives will be affected by it, so will the national identity as well.

It can be argued if globalisation leads to losing national identity. First of all, products and places become homogenous - the same everywhere. World becomes smaller and much more the same. However, it is to be underlined that globalisation is also able to encourage patriotic feelings. A good exemplification is Poland entering the EU. Being a part of a bigger international community stimulates us to remember abut our roots, ancestors, history. We are also left our language - something of great crucial significance to our national identity.
